Emil Sayegh

Codero Hosting

President & CEO

Emil Sayegh is an early pioneer of cloud computing and is recognized as one of the industry’s only true veterans. A cloud visionary, he is credited with launching and leading the very successful cloud computing and hosting businesses for HP and Rackspace – two of the strongest competitors to Amazon Web Services (AWS). He is also known as one the “fathers of OpenStack” having created the open source software.

Emil built the Rackspace cloud business while serving as the company’s GM of the Cloud Computing Division. He led Rackspace into the public cloud market and successfully positioned it to compete with AWS. Earlier at Rackspace he served as VP of the Product Group and launched the company’s private cloud and hosted exchange services. He later moved on to HP where he served as VP of Cloud Service and initiated the company’s public cloud services.

Emil’s early career included eight years with Dell where he served as Services Marketing Director, a position in which he oversaw development of the global services roadmap and the marketing organization. He also served in leadership roles at RLX Technologies (later acquired by HP), Compaq Computers (later acquired by HP), and W.L. Gore & Associates.

Emil holds nine patents in the fiber-optics interconnect field. He earned a Bachelor Degree from the School of Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Technology Commercialization from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

Emil joined Codero Hosting as President and CEO in January 2012 and is leading the next generation of cloud computing with the hybrid cloud.
